What is a lower 3rd? Just like it sounds, a lower third is a graphic that comes into the bottom 33% of the screen when you are trying to enjoy a show. Usually it plugs an upcoming program. A lower 3rd used to be a mere color bar with some text and a station logo. But, In the last year or so, lower thirds have become quite elaborate with characters actually moving around (dancing, fighting, posing) at the bottom of the screen. To someone not interested in motion graphics this can be pretty annoying.
This is my lower 3rd treatment for the "Summer Bubbles" rebranding of the Cinemax network:
